Protect the land at the water’s edge

Every shoreline needs
the right solution.

Soil loss, steep banks, and washouts can put your landscape at risk. We focus on restoring vulnerable areas and helping stabilize the shoreline.

01

Shoreline restoration

Repair eroded lakebanks, fill undermined areas, and rebuild the shoreline profile to support a more stable waterfront.

02

Geotube systems

Geotextile containment systems installed along vulnerable banks to help retain soil and reinforce the shoreline.

03

Washout & erosion repair

Address soil displacement, washouts, and damaged areas around the lakebank before the erosion progresses.

From erosion to a restored shoreline

How we install your geotube system

See how we rebuild an eroded lakebank, from anchoring the geotube and filling it with sand to grading the yard and installing new sod.

Step 1: Assess and prepare the shoreline
Step 01

Assess and prepare the shoreline

We inspect the eroded bank and prepare the shoreline for the geotube system. This creates the starting point for rebuilding the lost shoreline and restoring the lawn.

Step 2: Position and anchor the geotube
Step 02

Position and anchor the geotube

We place the geotube along the shoreline and secure it with 18-inch stakes. A second row of stakes, approximately 2 feet behind the first, connects to the tube with rope tie-backs for additional anchoring.

Step 3: Pump in sand and water
Step 03

Pump in sand and water

We pump a mixture of sand and water into the geotube. The fabric allows water to escape while retaining the sand, gradually filling the tube to form support along the bank.

Step 4: Fill along the shoreline
Step 04

Fill along the shoreline

We continue filling the geotube along the bank, keeping the system positioned and anchored as it takes shape.

Step 5: Allow the water to drain
Step 05

Allow the water to drain

As water drains through the fabric, the sand remains contained inside the geotube. The filled system provides the foundation for rebuilding the shoreline profile.

Step 6: Add sand and grade the bank
Step 06

Add sand and grade the bank

We place additional sand over and behind the geotube, then grade the area to match the existing backyard. The goal is a smooth transition from the lawn to the restored shoreline.

Step 7: Install and pin new sod
Step 07

Install and pin new sod

We cover the graded area with new sod and secure it with 8-inch ground pins. These hold the sod in place while the grass takes root.

Step 8: Finish and water the grass
Step 08

Finish and water the grass

The finished shoreline blends back into the yard with a fresh grass surface. Water the new sod to help it establish. The geotube system requires no maintenance—just water the grass.

Project 1

Project 2

Follow this shoreline restoration from the eroded bank to the finished grass.

Project 3 / From erosion to a restored lakebank

Follow the shoreline’s transformation: exposed and eroded soil, geotextile installation, rebuilding the bank, and a fresh grass finish.

Project 4 / Rip Rap Cement Bag Retaining Wall

From an eroded lakebank to a reinforced cement bag retaining wall and restored grass. Follow the work in order below.

The process, step by step

  1. Prepare the shoreline

Inspect the erosion and prepare the affected lakebank for the retaining wall.

  2. Build and reinforce the wall

Place the cement bags along the bank. Every cement bag receives rebar reinforcement.

  3. Anchor the wall

Use ropes as anchors to hold the wall tight.

  4. Install retaining fabric

Place fabric behind the wall to hold the sand in place and reduce sand loss through the wall.

  5. Backfill and restore

Backfill behind the fabric with sand, shape the bank, and finish with grass.
